Cambodia Requesting UNSECO to List Koh Ker Temple as World Heritage Site

The Cambodian government is requesting the UNSECO to include Koh Ker temple in the UNESCO World Heritage List and Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

Minister of Culture and Fine Arts HE Phoeurng Sackona said on 9 February that the request has been submitted and Cambodia is waiting for the result.

The request was submitted along with two others including Khmer noodle (Nhnom Banchok) and Bokator. Separately, Battambang was nominated for the Creative Cities Network of UNESCO.

Koh Ker Temple is a 10th-century temple complex located in North Srayong village, Srayong commune, Kulen cistrict, Preah Vihear province. Koh Ker temple was built during the reign of Jayavarman IV and was dedicated to the god Shiva.
