Cambodia Sees Surge in Investment Projects

In a remarkable boost for the nation’s economy, Cambodia has registered 546 new investment projects worth nearly USD 8 billion in the first nine months of 2025, according to a recent press release from the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).

The latest figures indicate a significant rise compared to the same period in 2024, during which only 315 projects with a capital of approximately USD 5.3 billion were recorded. This year, the number of projects has surged by 231, reflecting a 73% increase, while the total investment capital has climbed by about USD 2.5 billion, an impressive 47% growth.

Notably, September alone witnessed the registration of 55 new investment projects totaling around USD 467 million, projected to create approximately 37,000 jobs. The breakdown indicates that 38 of these projects are situated outside special economic zones, while 17 are within these zones, highlighting a diverse approach to economic development across different areas.

The CDC’s performance indicates that, within just nine months, it has already exceeded the total number of investment projects registered throughout the entirety of 2024 by 132 projects. This momentum points to a growing confidence among investors in Cambodia’s economic landscape.

As the CDC continues to foster a robust investment climate, the increase in projects is expected to contribute significantly to job creation and economic growth, paving the way for a prosperous future for the Kingdom.
