Cambodia Sees Surge in Tourism Revenue, Generating Over USD 25 Million in Ticket Sales

 

In an impressive display of recovery and growth, Cambodia has successfully generated more than USD 25 million from tourist ticket sales in the first 5 months of 2025.

The figures, highlighted in a report released by the Angkor Foundation on 1 June, reveal that from January to May 2025, tourism hotspots such as Angkor Wat, Koh Ker Temple, Beng Mealea Temple, Phnom Kbal Spean, and local boat rides collectively earned USD 25,612,797.

The report detailed that during these five months, Cambodia welcomed 527,577 foreign tourists who purchased tickets to visit Angkor Wat alone, resulting in a remarkable revenue of USD 24,569,024. This marks a substantial increase of 10.64% compared to the same period in 2024, showcasing the country’s growing appeal as a tourist destination.

Highlighting the month of May, ticket sales to Angkor Wat alone amassed approximately USD 2,360,214, drawing in 52,767 foreign visitors—a 3.10% increase from the previous year.

In addition to the robust earnings from Angkor Wat, the Angkor Foundation reported an additional USD 1,043,773 from other attractions, including Koh Ker Temple, Beng Mealea Temple, Phnom Kbal Spean, and boat rides.

To further enrich the experience for international travellers, both the Cambodian government and the Angkor Foundation have rolled out strategic initiatives aimed at promoting the country’s extensive cultural heritage and breathtaking natural landscapes. (Read more, more, and more)
