The draft budget bill for 2025 was approved during a cabinet meeting on October 25, chaired by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, according to a press release issued after the meeting.

The budget for 2025 represents 18.14 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). The press release stated, “The 2025 budget will serve as an effective policy tool for the Royal Government of Cambodia to maintain, protect, and further strengthen the significant achievements made in the past while continuing to lay the foundation for Cambodia’s ongoing development.”

The Cambodian economy is projected to grow 6.3% in 2025, raising the GDP to 209.16 trillion riels, or approximately USD 51.39 billion. The per capita income is also expected to reach USD 2,924 in 2025.

Key economic sectors are expected to contribute to this 6.3% growth, with the industrial sector projected to grow by 8.6%, the service sector by 5.6%, and the agriculture sector by 1.1%. Inflation is anticipated to be around 2.5%.

The draft budget bill for 2025 will be submitted to the National Assembly for review and approval, followed by the Senate for final review before being presented to His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, for endorsement.
