Chinese firms eye US$500 million commercial building in Kompong Speu province

Chinese companies have announced plans to build a US$500 million commercial building in Kampong Speu province after a meeting between the governor and the companies held in China.

Speaking with Construction & Property Magazine through telegram on 10 April 2019, Kampong Speu provincial governor H.E Vei Samnang said that
during his visit to Guangdong province, mobile phone manufacturer and property developer OPPO and VIVO said they plan to invest in the province including building a US$500 million commercial building in Chbar Morn city in Kampong Speu province.

“I met directly with investors and they told me like that [commercial project], but exactly what, I did not know, but they said like that,” H.E Vei Samnang said.

Kampong Speu is becoming a good location for investors as the province has recently attracted many infrastructure projects, including the US$2 billion Phnom Penh-Sihanouk expressway, which will pass 80km through the province. (Read more)

In addition, a 60-megawat solar power plant and many industrial projects are being developed in the province. (Read more)
