Chip Mong Retail Ground Breaks Community Mall in Russey Keo Area

One of Cambodia leading retail players, Chip Mong Retail, broke ground on another community mall located in the Russey Keo area on 26 April.

Sitting in the heart of Park Land 598 along Chea Sophara Road, this 5-storey ‘Chip Mong 598 Mall’ stretches over 11,000 square metres of floor area with 133 parking lots with construction expected to finish by the first quarter of 2021.

With key retail features such as a premier Cineplex by Legend Cinemas, specialty food and beverages, Chip Mong Supermarket, a children’s playground, and other essential services, this shopping mall will meet the community’s needs, especially residents living in the Chip Mong Land project.

Speaking on the potential of the mall, Mr Stephane Pierron, Acting President of Chip Mong Retail, said “with our theme ‘Shared Spaces, Shared Times’, Chip Mong 598 Mall will offer a fresh concept in entertainment and shopping experience”.

While numbers of shopping mall have increased gradually in Phnom Penh, Mr Stephane Pierron is confident with the emergence of malls by Chip Mong Retail.

“It’s a long-term strategy of Chip Mong Retail in investing in this. We have the ambition to be the best retailer in Cambodia, so one of the unique features of the shopping mall of Chip Mong Mall is that we construct in a prime location and in partnership with Chip Mong land, so we have a good location,” he said.

“Situated in one of the most popular districts of Phnom Penh, Park Land 598, together with a community mall, will become one of the most sought-after residential areas in the neighborhood, eventually resulting in betterment of business transactions in the shopping mall,” said Chip Mong Land President Mr Henry Leang.

With an aim to expand the company’s potential in the retail market, Mr Pierron added that the company was always looking for new opportunities and so far, the company has seven shopping malls. In 2019, two more community malls are set to open, namely the Noromall along Norodom Boulevard and Chip Mong Bak Touk.

Earlier this year, Chip Mong Retail (CMR) and Chip Mong Land (CML), subsidiaries of Chip Mong Group, teamed up to gain market share in the sector. (Read more)
