City Hall Orders All Construction Sites to Strengthen Health Control Measures

The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration has instructed construction site owners in Phnom Penh to strengthen health control measures against COVID-19, as cases detected within this sector have been increasing.

Phnom Penh Governor HE Khuong Sreng said that the order is to ensure the safety of workers and the sustainability of the sector as a whole.

Those measures include but are not limited to:

-Construction site owners or managers must regularly update the lists of telephone numbers, addresses or residences of employees during the working period.

-Owners and site managers must also regularly measure employee’s temperature, spray alcohol, and ensure use of the COVID-19 QR Code app at entrances.

-If possible, owners or construction site managers are to provide daily accommodation for their staff so that they can be easily managed without widespread in case of positive case(s) founded.

-Staff and workers are not allowed to eat outside the venue and are encouraged to pack food for eating during work hours.

-If possible, construction sites shall prepare the testing site, quarantine centre, or even the treatment centre.

-Construction sites should also do rapid tests on employees who have symptoms such as a fever, cough, sneezing, a cold, or difficulty breathing, among others. The rapid test also applies to new employees and workers who are in or completed a 14-day quarantine.
