Dara​ Sakor International Airport conducts flight engineering inspection before launching domestic aircraft in November

The US$200-worth Dara Sakor International Airport in Koh Kong province conducted a two-day of flight engineering inspection and calibration on September 29 and 30, 2024 as the operation of domestic small light aircraft flights is set in late November of this year.

A technical test was conducted on September 29 with the participation of HE Mao Havannall, Minister in Charge of the Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation (SSCA) and a representative of Dara Sakor International Airport Investment Company.

HE Sinn Chanserey Vutha, SSCS’s Secretary of State and Spokesperson, said on September 29 that the test was conducted for flight checks, air navigation equipment, radio communication with pilots and other technical parts.

“If nothing changes, the operation of the domestic small light aircraft flight at Darasakor International Airport may take place at the end of November,” he said.

The airport, built over a 218-hectare site in Botum Sakor District, Koh Kong Province, with an investment of USD200 million in the first step, is invested by the Chinese company Union Development Group.

The airport currently is 100 percent completed in construction and is ready for commercial cooperation. The airport is capable of accommodating 4E aircraft, from small to medium-sized aircraft. (Read more)
