Experts Share Visions At 7th Annual Vertical Cities Conference

The 7th Annual Vertical Cities conference, organised by marcus evans, was hosted in Thailand in March with industry experts gathering to share their knowledge on vertical cities across the spectrum of planning, design, building operation, sustainability and long-term commercial viability.

This year’s event was held over three days from March 7 to 9 at The Peninsula Bangkok, Thailand. The summit was divided into two streams comprising of Master Planning & Vertical Integration, and Engineering, Construction & Smart Materials, of which speakers who are specialised in each field of study were invited to share their knowledge, technical experiences, as well as their current projects and products related to vertical cities.

“We have identified the industry’s experts to present at our conference creating a forum for debate and discussion that provides an unparalleled opportunity to hear first-hand how industry leaders have successfully resolved the challenges facing their business today,” said Conference Producer Jenn See.

All participants have learned the methods to go beyond aesthetics and create socially engaging buildings, uncovering innovative design methodologies for an inclusive, well-connected, pedestrian-orientated vertical community, and also the practical insights to identify and leverage smart materials and sustainable technologies to boost building performance and resiliency in terms of stability, fire safety and effectiveness.

Beside gaining knowledge, the highlight session of this year event was the Super Skyscraper Build-Off section where all participants were teamed up to perform a fun game by building up the tallest building they could make using only spaghetti, marsh mellows and sticky tape. There was also an exclusive tour to Magnolias Waterfront Residences, which is one of the world’s most luxurious waterfront developments that won many awards in 2016.
