Gold production reaches nearly 13 tons by early November

Cambodia’s gold refineries have refined nearly 13 tonnes of gold by early of November 2024, according to the Ministry of Mines and Energy’s report.

HE Ung Dipola, Director General of the General Department of Mines of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, said at a press conference held on November 6, 2024 that Renaissance Minerals Company in Mondulkiri province produced 807 gold bars with a total weight of 12,536 kg while Rong Cheng Company, located in Mondulkiri province, produced 12 gold bars, equivalent to about 22 kg.

Currently, ten gold mining companies are operating in Cambodia:

  1. Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) Ltd is located in the O’Khvav area, Keo Seima district, Mondulkiri province.
  2. Xinshan is situated in the Phnom Mlong area of Preah Vihear province.
  3. Delcom Cambodia is also located in the Phnom Mlong area, Preah Vihear province.
  4. Rong Cheng Company is based in the Chong Plas area, Mondulkiri province.
  5. Jiangxi Mining Energy Development Co., Ltd. operates in the Otron area, Kratie province.
  6. LATE CHENG MINING DEVELOPMENT CO., LTD, found in the Phnom Chi area, Kampong Thom province.
  7. Phu Yuan Company is located in Phnom Prek, Battambang province.
  8. Cambodia K88, situated in Phnom Chi, Kampong Thom province.
  9. Oriental Wisdom Company is based in Phnom Pang, Ratanakkiri province.
  10. Mesco Gold Company is located in O’Yav Dao, Ratanakkiri province.

Renaissance Minerals is the first company to start commercial gold mining in Cambodia according to international standards, with 90 percent pure gold.
