Gov’t Allows Reopening of Schools, Stadium, and Other Entertainment Venues

The Cambodian government has recently announced the reopening of schools, stadiums, museums, and other entertainment venues including wedding parties, but with stricter precautionary measures.

According to a special audio message from Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen, released by Fresh News on 18 November, the reopening of the above-mentioned venues aims to boost the economy after a two-week closure due to the “November 3” incident. (Read more)

Samdech Hun Sen announced that the “November 3” incident was over after about 1,422 direct and indirect victims were tested negative for the COVID-19 the fourth time.

He said the schools will reopen on 23 November, and he also ordered local authorities to reopen other facilities following the instruction of the Ministry of Health.

“We are being cautious, but we also don’t want to shut down the economy. But, we need to always practice precautionary measures such as temperature checks, hand washing, social-distancing and so on,” said PM Hun Sen.
