Hoa Phat Group Exports More Than 45 Thousand Tons of Steel to Cambodia

Vietnam-based steel manufacturer Hoa Phat Group reported an increase of more than 28% in sales of construction steel in the first three months of 2019 with Cambodia purchasing around 45,000 tons of the total sales, according to a press release by the company.

By the end of April, Hoa Phat reported that it had sold around 700,000 tons of construction steel in the first three months of 2019, an increase of 28.68 % compared to the same period last year.

Of the total sales, the company said that it had exported more than 77,000 tons to the international market of which 59% was shipped to Cambodia, equivalent to about 45,430 tons of steel, thanks to the country’s booming construction industry.

According to the figures from the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, investment capital in the construction sector over the past decade from 2010 to 2019 has been valued at more than US$43 billion. The latest figures show that between January to March, construction projects worth more than US$1.3 billion in investment value were approved.
