In Four Months, PP-SHV Expressway Generated Almost US$11 Million

The Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway earned almost US$11 million in the first four months since the start of traffic charging on 1 November 2022 to 28 February 2023, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

The ministry further announced that it is continuing to work with operators to enhance the provision of expressway services and address any issues that may arise, aiming to increase traffic flow and boost the national economy through tax revenue.

Statistics from the ministry reveal that between October and February, a total of 1.9 million vehicles travelled on the expressway, with the operator collecting over US$11 million in service fees.

In light of these developments, Minister of Public Works and Transport Sun Chanthol has urged the company to strengthen education on highway driving and cooperate with traffic authorities to strictly enforce traffic laws, particularly about reverse driving. The minister has also called on the company to demarcate the station and set a longer length to facilitate easier entry into each lane.
