International Business Chamber to Help Digitise Public Works & Transport Sector

The International Business Chamber of Cambodia (IBC) will support the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) in digitising the public works and transport sector through the Telegram Bot.

The meeting between the two parties was held on 14 January and joined by the Director of the Department of Information Technology and Public Relations Heang Sotheayuth and IBC Executive Chairperson Paul Clements.

The discussion focused on the inputs and technical mechanisms needed for this digitising project.

The two sides agreed to study in-depth to establish a system that utilises AI technology in the Telegram Bot to assist the administrative works for both officers and the public.

“The initiative will enable the officers to quickly communicate and especially automatically generate work progress reports,” said Mr Sotheayuth.

Telegram currently has about 550 million users (DataReportal as of October 2021). Telegram is also ranked No. 1 in Cambodia, according to a report by Similar Web as of 12 January 2022.
