ISI STEEL, NPIC contribute to building qualified engineers & architects through its 2021 award

ISI STEEL, the largest and leading manufacturer and distributor of high-quality steel products in Cambodia, in cooperation with the National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC) has delivered awards to the winners of its 2021 Best Architectural Competition under the theme of ‘Sustainability’.

The award handing ceremony was held on 20 January at NPIC, where a group of three students— Pov Reaksa, Phoun Leakena, and Huy Pisal—showcased their first-prize project.

The three designed a “multi-purpose booth” which will work as a one-stop learning space for everyone in NPIC. Under the support of ISI Steel, the booth will not be just a project but will be built by three students to serve as the actual learning space for everyone.

Dr Bun Phearin, Director of the National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia, said that the contest not only gives students the opportunity to show their talents and be able to practice the skills but also creates a real new learning space for students.

Mr Sok Vichet, Commercial Director of ISI STEEL, said that this is not the first time that the company has helped the community through its CSR projects.

“We try to use the resources we have to help society as much as possible, such as sponsoring school construction, providing materials to build houses for people in the rural community, among others,” he said.

ISI Steel is now also cooperating with educational institutions to contribute to the promotion of education.

Mr Vichet also sent a message to young students to not only focus on learning the theory but also keep their perspectives open and try to practice their knowledge in the real project if possible.

Established in 1997, ISI STEEL has now become the largest and leading manufacturer and distributor of steel products in Cambodia, with a production capacity of thousands of tons per month.

All ISI STEEL products are recognized and trusted by customers for their high-quality products, which reflect the company’s diligence, integrity, and innovation in its business operations.
