Japan’s Extends Over US$250K Grant Fuels Vital Projects in Prey Veng & Siem Reap

In a demonstration of unwavering friendship and commitment to fostering better living conditions, the Government of Japan has granted a sum of US$252,136 for two pivotal projects in Cambodia. This significant financial aid encompasses the construction of housing and equipment installations at the Prey Veng Provincial Rehabilitation Centre and the procurement of essential medical equipment for the Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap.

The grant, facilitated through Japan’s small human security project “Kusanoni,” was formalized through a signing ceremony on 17 November 2023, attended by Ambassador Taninai Ichitomo and representatives from each project beneficiary.

Ambassador Taninai Ichitomo expressed optimism, stating, “We hope that this grant will contribute to improving the quality of life for the residents of each project location and further strengthen the enduring friendship between Japan and Cambodia.”

This altruistic gesture from Japan follows closely on the heels of another significant contribution through the Small-Scale Human Security Project, where a total of US$424,907 was allocated for three vital projects: the “Road Rehabilitation Project in Oddar Meanchey Province,” the “Bridge Construction Project in Kampong Leng District, Kampong Chhnang,” and the “Bridge Construction Project in O’Mreah Commune, Siem Bok District, Stung Treng Province.” (Read more)
