Japan Heart Supports Construction of Paediatric Oncology Hospital in Kandal Province

Japan Heart Children’s Medical Centre has announced the construction of a three-storey paediatric oncology hospital in Kandal province. The facility, which will feature 100 rooms and four operating theatres, is expected to be completed within 15 months, with an opening scheduled for October 2025.

This initiative, disclosed by Japan Heart on 31 July 2024, is a significant step toward enhancing healthcare for Cambodian children.

Dr Hideto Yoshioka, the founder of Japan Heart Children’s Medical Centre and a paediatric surgeon, emphasised the hospital’s role in saving the lives of children with cancer and providing them with opportunities for a brighter future.

He stated, “This hospital will be a beacon of hope for many young lives, ensuring they receive the care they need to achieve their dreams.”

The Japan Heart Children’s Medical Centre is committed to offering the highest quality medical care, ensuring that all paediatric patients receive free and equal treatment at the new hospital. This project underscores Japan Heart’s dedication to improving healthcare accessibility and quality in Cambodia.
