Japan’s Additional US$350,000 Grant Paves Way for Educational & Clean Water Advancements in Cambodia

The Government of Japan has allocated a substantial sum of nearly US$350,000 to foster education and enhance clean water access in Cambodia. This benevolent initiative is facilitated under Japan’s economic cooperation framework, specifically, the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects, known as the “KUSANONE” Grant.

A significant portion of the grant, amounting to US$92,425, has been earmarked for the ‘Construction of the Sre Ken Primary School Building in Aoral District, Kampong Speu Province.’ This project holds the promise of providing a conducive and modern learning environment for the students of the region, contributing to the advancement of education in Cambodia.

Furthermore, an allocation of US$100,344 is dedicated to the ‘Project for the Construction of the Russei Douch Primary School Building in Prasat Balang District, Kampong Thom Province.’ This initiative reflects Japan’s commitment to supporting education infrastructure development across various regions in Cambodia.

In a bid to address vital water supply needs, a noteworthy sum of US$156,150 has been allocated to implement the Project for ‘The Installation of a Water Supply System in Senmonorom District, Mondulkiri Province.’ This endeavour is poised to enhance the quality of life for residents by ensuring reliable access to clean and safe water.

The official signing of the grant contract took place at the Embassy of Japan, involving HE Ueno Atsushi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and representatives from the three recipient organisations.
