Kandal Provincial Administration Accelerates State Public Land Registration

The Kandal provincial administration has urged all 11 district governors to register state public land that has not yet been registered and to resolve in advance land disputes out of court.

The remarks were made by Kandal Governor HE Kong Sophoan in the meeting with the provincial land management committee on Thursday 23 December.

HE Kong Sophorn also urged officials to cooperate with the provincial state land management committee on registration procedures.

“Local authorities must strengthen the management of state public land, especially land that has already been registered, mainly to prevent the encroachment on public land, roads, canals, streams, lakes, among others,” he added.

HE Kong Sophorn added that if possible local authorities shall resolve land disputes using extrajudicial procedures, which is effective and less time-consuming.
