Kep Authorities Set to Construct New Cargo Port, With Completion of White Horse Port Nearing

Kep provincial authorities have unveiled plans to embark on the construction of a state-of-the-art cargo port, valued at over US$ 1 million, while also nearing the completion of the White Horse Port, which is currently 70% finished. These significant developments were announced by HE Som Piseth, Governor of Kep Province, during a press conference highlighting the “Success in the past 5 years” of the Kep Provincial Administration on 11th May 2023.

Governor Som Piseth emphasized that although the White Horse Port is not yet 100% complete, substantial progress has been made, with construction currently standing at 60 to 70% completion and on track to finish in the near future.

Furthermore, the Kep provincial administration is actively proposing an investment in a new shipping port on state-owned public land, aiming to bolster maritime infrastructure in the region.

Governor Som Piseth stated that this investment project will be spearheaded by private sector investors, with a budget exceeding US$ 1 million.

The investment project for the construction of a new tourist port in Kep province, commonly known as the White Horse Port, was inaugurated on 15th September 2021, boasting a private investment totalling US$ 1.9 million. (Read more)
