Kratie Governor to further enhance provincial infrastructure after approving 79 construction projects

Kratie Governor HE Ra Thorn has pledged to continue enhancing provincial infrastructure, after approving 79 construction projects worth more than US$4 million.

During a press conference on the progress and ongoing work of the Kratie Provincial Administration on 30 June, Governor Ra Thorn stated that in terms of construction work, the Kratie Provincial Administration has issued 79 construction permits. These projects are being developed on a total of 9,188 square metres and valued at US$3,801,100.

According to the governor, there are also other ongoing infrastructure development projects including 22.87km of AC roads, 317m of concrete road, 4.57km of sewage system, and other road maintenance projects.

To date, Kratie province has total infrastructure of almost 1,000km, including over 300km of paved road, about 600km of gravel road, and a total of 109 bridges with a length of over 4,000 metres.

The Cambodian government has recently completed a study on the 1,761-metre Mekong River bridge in Kratie province.  The responsible team is now proceeding to request funds from China, with the hope that the construction will start soon. (Read More)
