The Ministry of Environment (MOE) has embarked on a visionary initiative to encourage heightened bamboo cultivation, both as an avenue for export and as a pivotal means to establish carbon neutrality within the Chambok Community Protected Area in Kampong Speu province. Spearheaded by HE Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, this strategic move underscores the symbiotic relationship between sustainable economic endeavors and environmental preservation.

The minister’s recent visit on 27 August 2023, solidified the MOE’s commitment to fostering a dynamic ecosystem where economic empowerment aligns seamlessly with ecological equilibrium. Notably, this endeavor is underscored by the collaboration with LEOPA BAMBOO Co., LTD, a pioneering enterprise in bamboo processing powered by solar energy.

As local residents engage in bamboo cultivation to supply the innovative bamboo processing company, economic prospects burgeon.
