More Construction Expected in Kep and Kampot

Kep and Kampot Provinces are expected to see more construction coming in the short term, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT).

On 30 October, 2018, H.E Sun Chanthol Senior Minister and Minister of MPWT said during the dissemination seminar on the ‘Logistics Master Plan Study Report’ that the ministry is currently working on the master plan for major cities in Cambodia, especially Kep and Kampot Provinces.

“We already initiated the starting of the master plan for Sihanoukville ,Siem Reap, Takmaoand Kampong Speu” he said, while adding that Kep and Kampot are in the pipeline.

“We move to Kep, we are going to do also in Kampot because I believe in a short time you are going to see more construction in the Kep and Kampot area” he added.

At the same time, H.E Sun Chanthol highlighted the strong economic growth of Cambodia at a rate of 7% per annum while pointing out the booming construction in the country.

“That is very urgent for the government in Cambodia, in particular, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport to come up with the master plan for major cities in Cambodia” he said.
