MPWT Discusses Infrastructure Investment Opportunity with US Chamber of Commerce

Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) Minister HE Sun Chanthol met with the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham) on Tuesday 15 June to discuss the potential and investment opportunities in transportation infrastructure.

The meeting was attended by several AmCham members led by AmCham President and CEO of Cambodia Investment Management Anthony Galliano.

Besides encouraging more US firms to invest more in the infrastructure sector in Cambodia, HE Sun Chanthol also highlighted the achievements of the infrastructure development in Cambodia.

“Briefly, the complete completed projects include the rehabilitation of NR1, 2, 22, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 48, 10, 11, 56, 58, 76, among other,” said HE Sun Chanthol.

“Meanwhile, there are also projects under construction and in planning which include the PP-SHV expressway, the 3rd and 4th ring road, NR31, 33, 41, 71C, and the new Kratie bridge,” he added.

HE Sun Chanthol also added that Cambodia has also begun to adopt the usage of the technology into infrastructure system, proven by the establishment of several applications and the GPS installations.

In addition, MPWT is also planning to embrace green transportation policy by promoting the usage of more electric vehicles.

After the meeting, both sides also pledged to continue the cooperation in promoting the development of Cambodia’s infrastructure to the next level.
