MPWT plans to develop a big wastewater treatment system on 30 hectares in Takhmao City

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport plans to develop a large wastewater treatment system on a 30-hectare site in Prek Thi Village, Roka Khpos Commune, Takhmao City, Kandal Province. This was announced during a meeting led by HE Ros Vanna, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Project Director, along with HE Kouch Chamroeun, Governor of Kandal Province, on October 29, 2024.

The purpose of the meeting was to ensure coordination and cooperation among stakeholders and local authorities to initiate the construction of the wastewater treatment system in Takhmao City.

According to the discussions, the development of the wastewater treatment system is the project’s first phase, which includes the construction of a sewage network, rainwater drainage, and both small and large sewage pumping stations. This initiative is being financed by the Fund for Economic Development Cooperation of the Import-Export Bank of the Republic of Korea.

The project will be developed on an approximately 30-hectare area in Prek Thi Village, Sangkat Roka Khpos, Takhmao City, Kandal Province. The agreement for this project was signed on August 29, 2024, with the Joint Venture of KUMHO-TECHCROSS.
