MPWT’s commitment to promoting electric vehicle adoption was first evident with the inauguration of three state-of-the-art charging stations. The initial facility was established within the Ministry’s headquarters, while the second station, inaugurated on 27th April 2022, is situated in the bustling city of Sihanoukville. Embracing a user-friendly tariff structure, MPWT has set the electric vehicle charging rate at an attractive 1,600 Riels per kilowatt hour. This competitive pricing aims to incentivize motorists to transition to environmentally-conscious transportation alternatives seamlessly.

With this bold move, MPWT is not only paving the way for a cleaner and greener tomorrow but is also bolstering Cambodia’s stance in combatting climate change. As electric vehicles continue to gain traction globally, Cambodia’s progressive initiatives are steering the nation towards a sustainable and environmentally-responsible future.
