National Road 48 Rehabilitation Project Reaches Bidding Phase

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has said that the project to rehabilitate NR48 connecting NR4 to Koh Kong Province is in the bidding phase, and the procedure is scheduled to be completed soon.

MPWT’s spokesman HE Vasim Sorya said on Wednesday 03 March that the NR48 rehabilitation project will be implemented with a South Korean loan.

At the end of the bidding process, the Ministry will send the bidding documents to the South Korean side, he said.

“After the bidding, there are further discussions internally with the Ministry of Economy and Finance before sending to the South Korean side,” said HE Sorya.

He added that the rehabilitation section is around 160km long from Sre Ampel district to Koh Kong provincial town. (Read more)

According to the spokesman, the project will cost approximately US$75 million, of which U$67 million will be the loan from the South Korean government and the other US$8 million is from the government fiscal budget.
