Bridge Across Mekong River in Kratie Province 55.8% Completed

As of early June 2024, the construction of the nearly 2 km long bridge across the Mekong River in Kratie province has reached 55.83% completion, while the connecting road is at 41.81%. This progress was announced on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) on 30 June 2024.

The MPWT confirmed that the 1,761-meter-long bridge spans the Mekong River between Chit Borey and Prek Prosop districts in Kratie province. The connecting road to Kratie City, spanning 33.459 kilometers, has reached 41.81% completion, whereas the bridge itself is at 55.83% completion as of June 2024.

Constructed by Shanghai Construction Group, the 1,761-meter-long and 13.55-meter-wide bridge, along with the 31.69-kilometer connecting road, is funded by the People’s Republic of China with an investment of US$111 million. The project is expected to take about 42 months to complete, significantly enhancing the region’s infrastructure and connectivity. (Read more)
