In a groundbreaking announcement, Professor Sir Konstantin (Kostya) S. Novoselov FRS, an esteemed Nobel Prize winner in physics, has unveiled his ambition to set up a state-of-the-art laboratory in Cambodia. This initiative aims to nurture and expand the skills of Cambodian youth in the fields of science and technology.

During a pivotal discussion with Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, Sir Konstantin expressed his admiration for Cambodia’s potential and the remarkable capabilities of its young population. “My mission is clear: to identify and mentor talented Cambodian youth in scientific and technological disciplines, helping them to excel and become invaluable resources for the future,” he stated.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen responded positively, praising the Nobel laureate for recognizing the opportunities within Cambodia. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with ministries, particularly the Ministry of Education, to maximize the impact of this initiative. “We are eager to equip our youth with a deep understanding of technology, and this laboratory will be a significant step in that direction,” he noted.
