Paving the Way to Breathtaking Vistas: Bokor Mountain’s New Access Road On Track

In a significant stride towards enhanced connectivity and accessibility, the construction of the 61-kilometre road linking National Road No. 4 to the picturesque Bokor Mountain is now underway. Okhna Sok Kong, President of Sokha Hotel, conducted an inspection on 28 December 2023, revealing that the project has commenced the concrete pouring phase, a pivotal step before the road’s full completion as per the Ministry of Public Works and Transport’s meticulous plan.

According to the project blueprint, the concrete pouring is designed to be 200 mm thick, with a width of 20 metres. It comprises a 7-metre-wide car road, a 6-metre-wide motorcycle lane, and 3.5-metre-long raised roads on each side. The concrete pouring follows the completion of the road’s initial clearing for construction phase on 1 April. (Read More)

Upon completion, this new thoroughfare will serve as a crucial link for local communities, facilitating travel from the coastal regions of Kampong Seila, Sre Ampil, and Prey Nob districts to the enchanting Bokor Mountain. Beyond mere connectivity, the road is expected to elevate local livelihoods, stimulate investment activities, and catalyse tourism to Bokor Resort, offering a more convenient route for travellers from the north and west of the country. Notably, the road’s intersection with Monivong National Park is just 61km away from Okhna Mong Rithy’s oil palm plantation, providing easy access to this tourist haven.

Initiated in February 2022, this ambitious project, undertaken by Sokha Real Estate Co., Ltd., aligns with the Royal Government’s vision for comprehensive development and enhanced infrastructure. As the concrete is laid and the road takes shape, the landscape is poised to witness not only a surge in accessibility but also a transformative impact on the regions it connects. (Read More)
