Boundaries Defined: Arey Ksat to Remain non-annexed to Phnom Penh City

PM Hun Sen has affirmed that Arey Ksat City in Kandal province will retain its autonomy and will not be incorporated into the administration of Phnom Penh.

During the momentous inauguration ceremony of the Bak Kheng Water Treatment Plant, held in Bak Kheng Sangkat, Chroy Changva District, Phnom Penh, on the morning of June 19, 2023, the Prime Minister reiterated this significant decision.

The Prime Minister explained that the land originally belonged to Kandal province and had undergone multiple border adjustments to be included within the jurisdiction of Phnom Penh.

Furthermore, he confirmed that Arey Ksat City will not be annexed to the Phnom Penh Capital Administration, allowing Kandal Province to exercise property tax regulations within Arey Ksat City.

Arey Ksat City, comprising four districts with eleven Sangkats, falls under the governance of the Kandal Provincial Administration. (Read more)
