PM Hun Sen to Inaugurate NR3 in March 2022

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has confirmed that the newly completed NR3 will be officially inaugurated in March next year by the Prime Minister of Cambodia.

Currently, the ministry said it is installing smart cameras at 10 locations and high-tech traffic lights to help reduce traffic accidents.

HE Khan Mane, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Project Manager of NR3, led a delegation on 9 November to inspect the progress of the installation.

“The installation of smart speed cameras and traffic lights with the modern technologies is to monitor, protect safety and facilitate the movement of people on the road,” said HE Khan Mane.

NR3 from Choam Chao to Kampot province stretches over a total length of 135km. The route is divided into two sections, the Choam Chao-Bek Kous section with four lanes and Bek Kous – Kampot with two lanes.

The renovation project cost US$219.9 million, which is a concessional loan from China as well as budget from the government.
