Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen this morning (April 25) presided over the official opening of Kratié University in Kratié Province.

The university was built with a budget of USD12 million of which USD2 million was from the Samdech Techo Foundation with the other USD10 million donated from the government of China.

“I am very glad seeing this big university appear in Kratie province. This is part of the government master plan to boost the education system in Cambodia. We have set the goal that one province must have at least one university, one district must have more than one high school, and one sub-district must have at least one secondary school,” said PM Samdech.

Besides building the school, PM Samdech Hun Sen also mentioned that in the future the government is also planning to build a bridge crossing the Mekong River in Kratie province to help ease the transportation for locals in the area.
