Property Insurance Premiums Reach US$10.7 Million in Q2 2023

The dynamic landscape of Cambodia’s insurance sector continues to make waves as property insurance premiums surged to an impressive US$10.7 million in Q2 of 2023. A report, recently released by the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia, sheds light on the sector’s resilience and growth.

Comparing this data with the preceding quarter of 2023 (read more), a decrease of US$3.3 million is evident, marking a trend that reflects the evolving demands and dynamics of the market. Conversely, when juxtaposed with Q2 2022, the rise of US$1 million speaks volumes about the industry’s progressive trajectory.

The property insurance premium’s commanding presence, constituting 32% of the overall general insurance figure, which stood at US$33.3 million in Q2 2023, underscores its pivotal role within the sector.

Unveiling the broader insurance landscape, the report highlights a total gross premium of US$81 million for the April-June period. This sum is distributed across different insurance segments, with life insurance making up 54.8%, general insurance comprising 41.04%, and macro insurance contributing 2.16%.

As the insurance sector continues to showcase its growth potential and adaptability, the property insurance segment’s ascension marks another stride in Cambodia’s journey toward fostering financial security and stability.
