The Royal Group and Singapore-based real estate developer Hong Lai Huat Group Limited have partnered to jointly develop a 28-floor condominium in Toul Kork district.

The project, named Royal Platinum Condominium, broke ground in a ceremony on Tuesday and construction is expected to be completed in 2021.

The condominium will provide 851 residential units and 50 shop houses built over 100,000 square metres. It will also include a playground, pools, gardens, restaurants and car parking lots.

The total amount being invested in the project has not been unveiled.

Ryan Ong Jia Ming, representative of Royal Platinum Condominium, said that the project will benefit buyers and enhance the standards of living of people in Phnom Penh.

“The development will be built following strict international quality standards. The Royal Group and Hong Lai Huat Group are committed to providing a safe and high quality residential location with modern facilities,” he said.

Sorn Seap, CEO of Key Real Estate, said that the location of the Royal Platinum has potential for attracting people to reside due to the Toul Kork area being developed as a good residential area because the location has a huge area of land.

“The Toul Kork area has become the centre of Phnom Penh because the city is being expanded widely to the north. If we see the land space and infrastructure of that place, the land is a huge space and it has already good infrastructure and it is the second residential area after the Boeng Keng Kong I area,” Mr Sorn told Construction & Property Magazine.

Land prices in Toul Kork area average between US$2,500 and US$3,500, according to Mr Sorn.

Currently, the Royal Group is also developing the Royal One in Phnom Penh in partnership with the Chinese Huashi Group with a total investment of US$150 million.
