Bidding Results of Japan-funded Multi-million Projects to Be Announced

Results of the bidding process for the multi-million dollar Japanese-funded projects will be announced very soon, according to the Phnom Penh Municipality. On 27 October, 2018, Phnom Penh Municipality spokesman Mr Met Meas Pheakdey told Construction&Property Magazine that the results of the bidding for the ‘flood prevention and the rehabilitation of pipe system’ projects will be announced shortly after the delegates return to the country from Japan.

Airport Development Project in Poipet to Resume

The government has allowed a local firm to reopen an airport development project in Poipet City, according to civil aviation officials. On 22 October, 2018, Mr Sinn Chanserey Vutha, spokesman for State Secretary of Civil Aviation (SSCA) told Construction &Property Magazine that the domestic airport development project in Poipet was approved in principle by the government after years of suspension.

The feasibility of plans by the governor of Kampot to construct a high-speed rail link to Phnom Penh, have been questioned by an expert from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT).
