Twin Flyover Construction in Phnom Penh Reaches 25% Completion, Targeting June 2025 for Full Operation

The construction of twin flyovers along Phnom Penh’s 60-metre boulevard at the intersection of National Road 2 has achieved 25% completion, a significant milestone for the project designed to enhance connectivity between Phnom Penh and Kandal province.

This progress, reported by HE Keut Chhe, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh, was shared on 10 December 2024, marking six months since the project’s initiation on 17 June 2024.

According to HE Keut Chhe, the project’s first bridge—connecting Samdech Hun Sen Boulevard to Phnom Penh International Airport—is slated for completion by April 2025, while the entire project is scheduled to conclude by June 2025.

The twin flyovers are being constructed at a cost exceeding USD 16 million and are designed as reinforced concrete bridges with I-shaped beams. The combined structure measures 622 meters in total length, with the first flyover spanning 281 meters and the second measuring 180 meters. Each bridge is 9.5 meters wide and features three lanes configured for one-way traffic, comprising two main lanes of 3.25 meters each and an additional lane of 2 meters. (Read more)
