The government has decided to reduce customs duties and special taxes on certain goods starting in 2026.

The General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia has issued a notice regarding the adjustments to customs duties and special taxes that will take effect from January 1, 2026. This decision was announced on December 24, 2025.

According to Notice No. 6065/25 GDCE from the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia, the following changes will be implemented:

  1. Import duties on live birds, computers and equipment, antennas and related equipment, as well as laboratory equipment and accessories, will be reduced from 15% and 7% to 0%.
  2. Import duties on glass wool boards, blenders, fruit and vegetable juicers, electric rice cookers, battery-powered grinders, sanitary napkins, and diapers will be reduced from 15% to 7%.
  3. The import tax rate on anti-corrosion paint for ships will be lowered from 35% to 7%.
  4. The import tax rate on electric ovens for grilling or roasting and limousine passenger cars will be decreased from 35% to 15%.
  5. The special tax rate on electric vehicle motors, vacuum cleaners, and audio equipment will drop from 10% to 0%.
  6. The special tax rate on electric vehicle batteries will be reduced from 10% to 5%.

These new tax rates and adjustments will significantly benefit the daily lives of citizens. Recently, the government has announced preferential VAT rates on certain goods. (read more)
