Luang Me Hospital, Cambodia’s Largest Oncology Facility, to Begin Operations in September 2024

The highly anticipated Luang Me Hospital, one of Cambodia’s largest oncology hospitals, is set to open its doors in September 2024, following the completion of extensive construction, renovation, and infrastructure improvements.

This update was confirmed by HE Dr Ngov Kang, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health and Chairman of the Board of Luang Me Hospital, during an inspection visit on 14 August 2024.

The hospital’s transformation into a leading cancer treatment facility marks a significant milestone in Cambodia’s healthcare sector, with the first phase of medical consultation services slated to begin shortly after the completion of renovations in August 2024.

HE Dr Ngov Kang emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest standards in construction quality, aesthetics, and technical specifications, ensuring that the facility meets both local and international standards.

The development of Luang Me Hospital is part of a broader initiative launched in May 2022 by former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, who directed the Minister of Health to convert the hospital into a specialised cancer treatment centre.

By early 2025, Luang Me Hospital is expected to provide advanced and high-standard cancer treatment services, further enhancing Cambodia’s healthcare capabilities and offering critical care to those in need.
