Gov’t Revives USD 590 Million in 30 Stalled Projects, Encourages Growth in SHV

In a strategic move to boost economic development, the Cambodian Government has greenlit special incentives for 30 stalled projects in Sihanoukville, representing a total investment of USD 590 million.

This decision announced on 26 September 2026, follows the efforts of the Investment Promotion Task Force to resuscitate a wide range of ventures, including smelters, metal processing plants, packaging mills, leather factories, supermarkets, multifunctional buildings, hotels, and restaurants.

This initiative is part of a larger framework set in motion by PM Hun Manet on 31 January 2024. By August 2024, the team had already approved incentives for 110 other projects.

In total, 140 projects—ranging from micro to large-scale enterprises and involving both local and international investors—have received incentives to promote economic activity in all districts of Sihanoukville.
