Phnom Penh’s Russey Keo cable bridge set to open for temporary traffic

Phnom Penh’s much-awaited cable-stayed concrete bridge, spanning across the Tonle Sap River in Chroy Changva and Russey Keo districts, is set to open for temporary traffic from April 10. The announcement was made by the Phnom Penh Capital Administration on 9 April 2023. The bridge, which is 20.5 meters wide and 500 meters long, is expected to take about 28 months to complete and will cost $35 million. (Read more)

To ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid congestion, the Phnom Penh Capital Administration has also announced the closure of the traffic across the Russey Keo steel bridge. The new cable-stayed bridge is expected to ease traffic congestion and provide better connectivity between the two river sides.

The temporary opening of the Russey Keo cable bridge comes after the recent announcement of the temporary opening of the Russey Keo flyover on March 1, 2023, by the Phnom Penh Capital Administration. (Read more)
