Transport Minister Orders Construction Firm to Speed up Work on NR2 and 22 Renovation

Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol has requested the construction firm to speed up work on the NR2 and 22 renovation project, as the current completion is only 27%, almost 50% behind schedule.

HE Chanthol said during a site inspection on 09 February that the total construction period of these two roads is 30 months. However, only 27% is completed after 15 months which is far behind schedule.

“I would like to request the construction firm to speed up the work but must maintain the high standards as promised. In case that COVID-19 causes machinery and materials distribution, we can negotiate. But, quality is non-negotiable,” said HE Chanthol.

The ministry has also set up two technical teams to inspect the construction works without prior notice to ensure quality.
