20 firms to bid for Phnom Penh waste management contract

20 firms are submitting applications to bid for Phnom Penh’s waste management contract before the deadline at the end of March 2020.

This statement was made by Mr Huot Hay, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh, who is in charge of waste management systems, at the 10th Phnom Penh Municipal Council Meeting on 12 March, 2020.

“So far, we have received applications from 20 firms in Phnom Penh to bid to invest in the Phnom Penh waste management as the deadline for submissions will be on 31 Marc 2020,” said Mr. Huot Hay.

“In the future, we will organize waste collection in three areas in 14 communes in Phnom Penh, with one company responsible,” he added.

H.E. Mikami Masahiro, Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, said that three Japanese companies are interested in investing in this sector and will join the bidding. (Read more)
