US Congress Yearns for Strengthen Trade & Investment Ties with Cambodia in the Energy Industry

The US Congress intends to strengthen trade and investment ties with Cambodia in the energy industry to further boost trade between the two countries.

This statement was made during a discussion between US Congressman, the Minister of Public Works and Transport, Minister of Commerce, and the Cambodian delegation with His Excellency Ron Estes, Member of Parliament for the 4th District of Kansas, and Mrs Carol Miller, deputies in the third district of West Virginia on 11 May 2022.

During the meeting, HE Sun Chanthol briefed the two US lawmakers on Cambodia’s progress and the development potential of the transport, port, and logistics infrastructure.

At the same time, HE Pan Sorasak also mentioned the current situation of the investment and trade environment related to industries such as mining, energy, and oil, as well as the garment sector, and especially the Cambodian Investment Law, which is one of the best open in the region in Asia.

At the same time, HE Ron Estes spoke about the technology of aircraft, automobiles, and other manufacturing industries for export.

In addition, Carol Miller wants to strengthen trade and investment ties in the energy industry, such as coal, oil, and gas, in order to strengthen trade and investment partnerships to promote trade between the United States and Cambodia.

On this occasion, the Cambodian side also invited the two US Congressmen to visit Cambodia at the end of August 2022 to further discuss further cooperation to encourage American investors to invest more in Cambodia and to be able to see the progress of development in Cambodia.
