US$295 million investment plans approved for five-star hotels and solar farms

More than US$295 million in investment plans have been approved for the construction of two five-star hotels in Sihanoukville province and two solar farms in Pursat and Kampong Chhnang provinces.

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) gave the greenlight on 29 August to Hai Gang Grand Hotel Co., Ltd to construct a five-star hotel with 900 rooms located in village 06, Sangkat 04, Sihanoukville Province. With investment capital of US$153 million, the hotel can create about 981 jobs.

Xigang V-Continent International Investment Co., Ltd, was also permitted to construct a five-star hotel with 1,111 rooms located in village 01, Sangkat 04, Sihanoukville province. Using around US$226 million, the hotel can create about 1,668 jobs.

CDC also gave permission for two solar farm investment projects for Scheitec Sustainable Co., Ltd located in Pursat and Kampong Chhnang provinces.

In Pursat, Scheitec Sustainable Co., Ltd will construct a 60-megawatt solar power plant in Ornsor Kdam village, Sna Ornsa commune, Krakor district using a capital investment of US$58 million, creating about 35 jobs.

The company will also construct another solar power plant in Romeas village, Taing Krasaing commune, Teuk Phos district, Kampong Chhnang province with an investment of US$58 million. The plant can produce 60 megawatts of electricity and can generate 35 jobs.
