Expert: Potential in Kampot Property Market Amid Rise in Domestic Tourism

Despite the COVID-19 crisis, Kampot has become a province with significant property investment potential, as domestic tourism is rising, according to a local real estate expert.

President of KW Cambodia Dr. Kim Heang told Construction & Property Magazine on 11 August that compared to other coastal provinces, Kampot has the most tourist flow due to its shorter distance from Phnom Penh.

“The province has become even more popular, in particular among domestic tourists during this COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, the real estate sector in the province undoubtedly is also growing slightly,” said Dr Kim.

However, he added that the price would not go as high as Sihanoukville at this present, as prices in Sihanoukville remain inflated

“Overall, I think maybe in the next five or ten years, Kampot will have great potential just like Sihanoukville. At the moment, the property trading is performing well, but the volume and price are not very high, ranging from US$40,000 to US$50,000,” he explained.
