FTB Breaks Ground on New US$112 million Headquarters “FTB Tower”

Foreign Trade Bank of Cambodia (FTB) in collaboration with MSNH Investment Co., Ltd (MSNH) has announced the start of construction on its new headquarters named “FTB Tower”.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held on 22 April and presided over by HE Chea Sophara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction.

With a total gross floor area of 77,593 square metres, FTB Tower, when completed, will have 28 floors and with four dedicated floors in the basement to accommodate car and motorbike parking, and a rooftop helipad for helicopter landing. FTB Tower is located on Lot A, Sangkat Monorom, Khan 7 Makara along Russian Boulevard, near the Peace Palace, the office of the Council of Ministers, at the heart of Phnom Penh business centre.

Constructing and owning name rights of the tower ‘FTB Tower’ indicates FTB’s strength and longevity as the first local commercial bank in Cambodia established since 1979. FTB has served customers and the market for over 40 years and still continues to strive for the benefits and satisfaction of our customers in this rapidly growing banking industry.

With US$112 million investment, FTB Tower is a Grade A Office Building, one of the few currently available in Cambodia. This Grade A Office Building has been designed by Aedas, a well-known global architect firm. It will be built by China Construction Midland (Cambodia) Co., Ltd (CCM), which is the Cambodia subsidiary of China State Construction Engineering ranked 13th of the Fortune Global 500 in 2021. The tower will be built with the use of the state of the art materials and features including the latest technologies in building automation, fire safety, energy conservation and environmental protection, compying with regional building standards.

For the architectural design concept, the tower design is anchored in the idea of a modern tower with its shape celebrating the FTB Logo with ‘Prum’ as a symbol that represents ‘strength and aspiration’. FTB Tower is setting a benchmark for sustainability, modern and iconic office tower where Cambodian culture meets contemporary architecture. Set to take almost three years to complete construction, FTB Tower will be the new headquarters of FTB, the prime hub of innovation and creativity in expanding its banking products and services. Other than the space that will be occupied by FTB for its own banking operation, the remaining available parts will be leased out as office space.

As the first commercial bank in Cambodia, a truly local bank trusted since 1979, FTB has played crucial roles in helping to promote and develop the local market and economy through relentlessly providing a wide range of banking products and services to local customers. With its total assets increasing to US$1.71 billion, the total loan portfolio of US$ 1.15 billion and total deposits of over US$ 1.4 billion, FTB is committed to continually helping local customers to achieve further growth and prosperity, and steadily forging ahead with the vision to be the preferred commercial bank in Cambodia.
