Gov’t Allocates 649 Hectares of Land in Toek Poss District to Private Firm for Development

In a significant move, the Cambodian Government has approved the allocation of 649 hectares of land in Teuk Phos District to private firm One Fraternity Co., as stated in Sub-Decree No. 154, translated on 26 July 2022.

This sizable parcel of land within the Oral Wildlife Sanctuary encompasses Kdol Sen Chey Commune and Chiep Commune in Teuk Phos District, Kampong Chhnang Province.

The land has been reclassified from public property to private state property, falling under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Environment as the overseeing authority for state property occupation. The allocation was made in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, relevant institutions, and sub-national administrations, all in adherence to the laws and principles established by the Royal Government.

Notably, this allocation follows the government’s prior decision to allocate over 200 hectares of land within Preah Suramarit Kosamak “Kirirom” National Park, located in Treng Trayeung Commune, Phnom Sruoch District, Kampong Speu Province, to ONE MORE Ltd. for development. (Read more)

This move highlights the government’s commitment to balancing economic development and environmental preservation, paving the way for private sector participation in sustainable and responsible land development.
