Cambodia’s Tourism Soars: H1-2023 Records 75% Surge with Over 11 Million Visitors

In an exceptional tourism surge, Cambodia witnessed a remarkable increase in visitor numbers during the first half of 2023. The Ministry of Tourism’s report, published on July 3, 2023, revealed a staggering 75% rise as Cambodia welcomed a total of 11.1 million domestic tourists, compared to the same period in 2022.

The country’s popularity as a tourist destination continued to soar, evident from the significant influx of visitors between June 26 and July 2, 2023. The data indicated that more than 306,524 individuals explored Cambodia, comprising 273,055 domestic tourists and 33,469 international visitors.

This notable surge reflects a 3.78% increase compared to the previous week, underscoring the growing appeal of Cambodia’s diverse offerings.

In 2022 alone, Cambodia’s tourism sector generated $1.415 million from international visitors and $650 million from domestic tourists, illustrating the positive economic impact of the thriving tourism industry. (Read more)
