In 10 Months, Cambodia Earns Over USD 37 Million from Angkor, Koh Ker & Boating Tickets

From January through September 2024, Cambodia generated USD 36,824,852 in ticket sales from Angkor, Koh Ker, and boat rides—a substantial revenue gain that reflects the country’s appeal to international visitors. The Angkor Institute reported this information on 1 October 2024.

The data indicates that, during these ten months, 774,203 foreign tourists purchased tickets to Angkor, amounting to USD 35,987,961, marking a 29.07% increase over the same period last year.

In October alone, ticket sales to Angkor brought in USD 3,465,231, with 74,353 tickets sold to international visitors, representing an 18.39% rise compared to October 2023.

The report also detailed additional revenues, with ticket sales to Koh Ker generating USD 228,675 and boating tickets contributing USD 608,216.

Admission fees for Angkor are USD 37 per day, USD 62 for three days, and USD 72 for a week, providing flexible options for international tourists.

In response to the growing influx of foreign tourists, the Cambodian government has introduced six significant reforms to streamline ticket sales and inspections at Angkor Wat, enhancing convenience and the overall visitor experience. (Read more)
